New Friends #MicroblogMondays

We were invited to a picnic on Saturday afternoon.  Despite the very un-picnic-like weather, we went.  There was another couple there who had a five-month-old boy.  His father held him, and Hubby held baby girl, close enough so they could each get a good look at the other.  Baby girl reached out, touched his face, his clothes.  He cracked a smile, reached toward her, too.  Then he squealed.  Baby girl jumped, her lower lip quivered.  She wailed.

Calm was quickly restored in the comfort of her aba’s arms, but she’d had her fill of socializing.  Making friends is tricky business.

  1. Those first few interactions can be so intimidating. But by learning early, they do better in the long run. Glad your little lady had daddy close by too.

  2. I know that lower lip quiver well… I’m finding the more I take Daphne out, the better she does with strangers and strange situations. Glad you guys are starting to make friends in your new city!
